Christopher Kane has to be one of my favorites from an emerging group of British/Scottish designers, and for good reason: this Central Saint Martin's graduate and former designer for Versace knows his clothes. As it were, expectations for his next show were monumental, with everyone from editors (Anna Wintour, anyone?) to buyers waiting breathlessly to see what he would whip up next. He did not disappoint. Gingham, beaded flowers, pastels, and intricate corsetry transformed these potentially dowdy frocks into something almost downright naughty. No surprise, either, since Kane's eclectic inspiration source included Lolita, religious cultism, and Nancy Reagan on the White House Lawn. So while I'm not sure the former First Lady would approve of the thigh-high dress slits, I say a job well done, Mr. Kane. A job very well done.
