When thinking of headbands, who do you have in mind? I think of Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf. To me, she's the Queen of Headbands. She rules. So, you're wondering: what's up with all the headbands and Blair talk? Well, the accessory to have this spring is the bow headband. This classic has already popped up on several runways this season, including at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Luella. If you still don't believe me, check out the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2010 RTW collection here.
Now that you've seen how Marc Jacobs sprinkled bows on his runway, I'm going to tell you how you can do this yourself. First, keep in mind that it doesn't matter if you have long hair or short hair; this look works either way. Second, when you wear a bow, make a statement with it. Don't get a tiny one that will hide under your hair. Instead, go for a big, colorful one that embodies sophistication and attitude. Here's a tip: get fabric that looks luxurious, like silk or leather. Third, there are a few different ways to achieve this effect. You can use either a headband with a bow like this one sold at Forever 21 or a scarf that you can wrap and tie into a bow on the side or in the middle of your head. Whichever style you pick, you're good to go. Now, it's your turn - go get one! But, remember one thing: have fun with it.
