As I am currently in London for the summer, I'm feeling a strong connection to Burberry, which is a British based brand. Burberry Prorsum’s Resort 2011 Collection represents the fashionable British life that I have observed so far on my excursion. Despite the regular rainfall, Brits wear stylish outerwear including many blazers and trench coats. No one does the trench coat better than classic Burberry.
Christopher Bailey, the Chief Creative Director of Burberry, started with uniforms from British colonies in the 1930’s and 40’s to create the Burberry Prorsum collection. The resort collection includes authentic military shapes, which are most noticeable in the many trench coats for both men and women. But this collection is more than just military inspired; it is edgy, innovative, and glamorous. While I have yet to see any British women walking to streets in thigh high black boots, I have noticed many sophisticated and sexy all black outfits as well as trench coats paired with heels.
