A few looks from Spijkers en Spijkers Spring/Summer collection.
When I heard the violins from a familiar Kylie Minogue (featured) song at On/Off, I knew that this would be a collection that I would enjoy. Spijkers en Spijkers Spring/Summer 2011 collection named after the Nick Cave song "Where the Wild Roses Grow" was a charming spring collection that I personally believe is exactly what a young, feminine spring line should be. Twin sisters Truus and Riet do a fantastic job of combining white eyelet dresses, black lace, metallic embroidery, and various floral prints that really reflect the story of a young girl lured in by romance. Some of the cuts were reminiscent of an innocent school girl’s while others reminded me of a gorgeous Berkeley afternoon on Memorial Glade. I am quite excited by these girls and I hope that we begin to see more of them in the States.
