Looks from sass & bide's Fall 2011 collection.
Yesterday marked the end of New York Fashion Week as industry hot-shots, editors, street style photogs, and aspirational bloggers all bid adieu to their eight-day stint at the Lincoln Center. The Fall 2011 collections continue in the UK with London Fashion Week, which has shifted into high gear with fan favorites like Sydney-based sass & bide.
Here’s a quick guide of what to expect to see from sass & bide’s new collection:
- Tribal influences: Monochromatic prints, chunky neckpieces, and geometric hats, galore!
- Orange: The color most sane people are afraid to wear has been reinvented in rich corals and construction-cone-like hues. Designers Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke may have made the red-yellow lovechild acceptable for the workplace. Maybe.
- Scales: Feeling fishy? Apparently, Middleton and Clarke were when they designed three fish-skin-inspired looks. Fortunately, theirs are a lot more attractive than the scales you pick off the bottom of your salmon fillet.

London Fashion Week continues until next Wednesday, February 23 with industry heavyweights like Christopher Kane, Burberry Prorsum, and Mulberry.
