Season’s Greetings - Winter Sweaters 2011

Sweaters have always been my favorite – there’s something comfy and classy about them that cannot be found in other articles of clothing. Dressed up or down, sweaters are an easy way to adjust to the fickle weather at Berkeley, while making a unique statement. Whether you are the girl who likes geometrics, stripes, or solids, these winter trends will keep you feeling good and looking even better.

This winter, colorful geometric shapes seem to be a cozy way to flaunt your inner fashionista. The bold color blocks are enough to not only make heads turn, but a simple way to spice up any outfit. Whether its cashmere or cotton, these sweaters spice up your outfit.

Simply throw on the coat before heading out, and it is guaranteed that the bold pattern and the unique cut at the neck will turn heads. ($298) Right: Free People Dursoduro Maxi Cardigan shows a bold and fun piece. Pair with cute boots, and you're ready to be the fashionista on the streets. ($158)

If the bright hues are too much, simple but sweet sweaters also await. These sweaters make you look not only fashionable, but also sophisticated, something that seems to compliment the gray skies of winter.

The loose knit sweaters, which are also the upcoming trend for the winter, are a versatile piece that can’t be missed. Whether it is a v-neck or turtle neck, bold or neutral, paired with skinny jeans or leggings, the outfit can’t go wrong.

  1. I loved this post. It shows off the trends really clearly. Thanks. And doesn't the "Splendid Marled Striped sweater" seem really 90s to anyone else?

  2. Thanks for posting this! I was looking for Winter 2011 styles and you've really defined the style trends. I agree with you DB, it does look really "90s". My personal favorite is the Marc Jacobs assymetrical Babylon sweater.
