Staff Picks: The Wardrobe Staple

Every week, our executive staff will answer our favorites of the moment…whether it be our favorite Berkeley hangouts, our inspirations, to everything in-between! Let us know what you want to know and we'll share!

Q: What one clothing item could you not live without?

John Kim, Co-Editor-in-Chief: The Oxford Shirt. My growing collection of Band of Outsider oxford shirts never seems dated and always get compliments. I buy myself one every few months as an investment.

Gabrielle Elias, Co-Editor-in-Chief: Denim Jeans. Gap's 1969 jean line revitalized my faith in denim. I can always trust them for overall fit and length.

Samantha Giordano, Editorial Director: The Striped Shirt. I have a wardrobe of basics so these always add a little spark to my outfits. My current favorite is a St. James Meridien II I picked up this summer: it's super warm and versatile.

TT Tu, Managing Editor: Crewneck Sweaters. I love crewneck sweaters, and there's nothing better in my opinion than the cotton-cashmere sweaters at J.Crew. They are so soft and I can literally wear them anywhere and everywhere.

Jonathan Deniol Rodriguez, Co-Creative Director: J Brand Jeans. J Brand has become my new favorite denim line. The Flynn jean fits my body type in all the right ways. I have long legs and I love when a pair of jeans makes my legs look even longer. The wax coating on the Flynn makes the pair of jeans look sharp - perfect for a variety of looks, whether I'm going for a casual look, or something a bit more dressy.

Aimee Shimizu, Blog Editor: Sneakers. Sneakers?! So boring! So unfashionable! So...comfortable? Let's be real, I'm a broke college student without a car, and that means my feet are my main method of transportation. Not only are these Tretorn sneakers super comfy, but they're also Swedish, which makes them inherently stylish. Double win!

Jordan Silver, Marketing Director: "Mocca-Boots". My latest obsession has been what my friend D'arcy lovingly calls the "mocca-boots." I got these Ronnie Fieg x Sebago Docksides last time I was in New York and they always seem to attract attention and make an outfit a little less ordinary.

Carolyn Yoo, Co-Art Director: Tights.Tights are my go to when I'm looking to spruce up an outfit. Banana Republic has a variety of textured tights at reasonable prices.

Tanya Sanderson, Events Director: Boots. Vince Camuto Boots are my favorite. They are all a little different and very comfortable throughout the day, even if they have a heel ;)
