The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive Student Committee (BAM/PFA SC) proudly presents:
Come celebrate ART, POETRY, and MUSIC at the BAM!
On Wednesday, November 30th, 5-7 PM, come join the BAM/PFA SC, Cal Literature and Arts Magazine (CLAM), and fellow student writers at a poetry reading inspired by the exhibit, 1991: Oakland-Berkeley Fire Aftermath by photographer Richard Misrach! The exhibit comprises of large-scale color photographs documenting the devastation of the 1991 Oakland-Berkeley fire and this year marks the 20th anniversary of the fire. The poetry reading will be geared to the theme of "Rebirth," correlating with the exhibit and putting a positive spin to the fire. With the reading’s theme, I can’t imagine a more fitting way to end the semester and year. Following the reading will be a reception with food and live music from ANIMAL SUPER SPECIES.
If you are interested in performing, please email your name, a sample of writing, and your phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP. Performance slots are limited. Keep in mind a few slots will be left available for an open-mic portion.
FREE ADMISSION. The Berkeley Art Museum is located at 2626 Bancroft Way (between College and Bowditch).
