New BART station ART

Ride down the escalator at the Downtown Berkeley BART station lately and you'll definitely catch a glimpse of a pleasant addition to the station's entrance windows. Replacing the previously bare glass panels is a project called the Rose Pavilion, courtesy of a collaboration between BART, local artist Deborah O'Grady, the University of California Botanical Garden, and the Downtown Berkeley Association.

The piece, which features images of roses and lines of poetry, serves as a part of Berkeley's efforts to revitalize and beautify the downtown area. This lovely installation has been up since mid-July and is expected to be on display until early next year. Check it out next time you head to the BART!
